Our Mission

In love and obedience to God and by the power of His Spirit,
our mission is . . .

“to know Christ and to make Him known.”

It begins with . . . a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ

We admit our need for God
We commit our life into His care and supervision

We are a vibrant, growing and praying body of forgiven people who use their spiritual gifts in ministry to each other and the community through:

– Inspiring worship services
– Small groups that provide care, prayer and Bible-study
– Quality adult, youth and childrens programs
– Intentional outreach programs
– Social Events

So that we become fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ.
We believe . . .

. . .
that worship services, as a response to God, are to be an inspiring experience.
. . .
that the nurturing of Jesus disciples is a life long process of which small groups are an important part.
. . .
that discovery and development of spiritual gifts honours God and results in joyful service.
. . .
that Jesus example of love is our model for all relationships.
. . .
that lost people matter a great deal to God and therefore matter to us.
. . .
that we need to understand the culture of our community in which God has placed us so that our ministry is relevant.
. . .
that the church is to be guided by Spirit-led leaders who encourage and release others for ministry.
. . .
that striving toward excellence honours God and inspires people.
. . .
in surrounding our life and ministry with prayer.
Hebron Christian Reformed Church of Whitby was started in 1954 by members of the Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church in Bowmanville who lived in the Oshawa-Whitby area. This initial group of 149 people worshipped in a rented hall in Oshawa. In 1957 a new facility was built at 30 Elizabeth Cres., Whitby later to be known as 407 Crawforth St. More families continued to join. Hebron Christian Reformed Church has helped give birth to congregations in Oshawa, Port Perry and Ajax.

In May of 2003 we moved into our new facilities on Anderson St.. We look forward to being in a new community and meeting our new neighbours.

The Christian Reformed Church has its roots in Europe. During the time of the Protestant Reformation many different denominations were formed based on the region in which people lived. We are part of the Reformed family of churches that has its origin in Switzerland and The Netherlands.

The Christian Reformed Church is a bi-national denomination with offices in Burlington, Ontario and Grand Rapids, Michigan. For more information go to www.crcna.org
